I want to throw my 2 cents into this story.

I don’t ride DH or Freeride or any other mtn varient but I have many friends that do and have said that Sara is a b$#ch and that west point is a pretty big fail when it comes to mtn biking.

That being said, im a commuter cycling and have found that Ive gotten good service from the 10th Ave shop. The owners are Sara and her husband Tim. Tim runs the 10th shop and Sara the Kerisdale. I have had a lot of good experience with Tim, he is a nice guy who has helped me out with a few things.

That being said, I have never found a bike shop that has 100% positive feedback. Every shop has that one guy who is just a jerk to customers (Dunbar cycles used to have a bunch of teenagers working there who were total a-holes)

There is one guy at west point on 10th, a younger guy, wears oakley glasses who at first I thought was a jerk, after coming in and getting some stuff for my every day commute he seemed to warm up and be more friendly and as of late, he has been really nice and helpful.

My last point is that the Kerisdale West Point Cycles is pretty… Crap when compared to the 10th ave shop. Its not as old and much smaller, and while Im not going to defend Sara’s actions, I dont want people reading this to think that west point is the be-all end-all of jerk shops. From my experience I would say that the Bike Dr is the worst, but im sure many people would disagree with me.

ANYWAY, my point is, dont be too quick to judge and if something like this happens to you, just write them a letter. People can have bad days some times, I know I do at work (but dont get me wrong, in this case I would be pissed too)
